Georgia Trip:
Mom called and told me that Meme was in the hospital. My heart immediately sunk. I thought this was the end, and felt bad that I didn't get to tell her goodbye. Meme went in for her normal regular checkup. When the doctor ran her blood work her potassium, kidney, and blood pressure results came back at an alarming dangerous rate. She reluctantly went to the hospital. They put her in ICU and watched her for 24 hours and felt she was doing well enough to return home. I think the hospital episode scared her. I wanted to help but felt trap with being so far away. Mom was suppose to come to Texas at the end of the month. She selfishly gave me her plane ticket so I could help Meme for two weeks.
I was nervous traveling alone with a toddler. Connor did great on the 2 hour plane ride. He loved looking out the window and watched a movie. No crying at all, just a happy little boy. Dad (Grandpa) picked us up at the airport. We went for lunch at the best BBQ ever at Fox Bros BBQ in Atlanta.

Since we were up in Atlanta Dad(Grandpa) wanted to do an activity. We went and explored the Georgia Aquarium. Connor was pretty quiet and happily just looked around at everything and pointed to the fish and kept doing the sign for fish.

 Playing with Grandpa's hair!
After the Aquarium we headed south toward good ol' Warner Robins. We stopped by the house to quickly say hi to Mary (Nana) then Dad (Grandpa) dropped us off at Mom/Memaw's house where we stayed for the two weeks.

Connor slept great at night, but had a hard time napping. He mostly went without naps which called for a grumpy guy in the evening. The only way to get him to nap was to drive around. So while he napped I took the time to go down memory lane and drive by old places where I grew up. I love how green Georgia is, but forgot how humid it is.

My mom (Memaw) decided to take off work and do a day trip to Tybee Island. We pack up and drove 3 hours to the beach. Excited to see Connor's reaction to the beach for the first time!

Sunscreen on, now to head to the explore the water.

I think I like this weird water!
Oh no! I changed my mind! I'm not too sure about this!
 Mom, I'll never let go!
I'll hold down the fort, y'all go on without me!
Soccer time!
Yup, this puddle is perfect for me!

That water is growling at me!
Whatever you say mom, I don't believe you!
 oh no!
I hate it!
 Memaw save me!

Don't you ever put me down there again!
Oh no, I'm falling!

Haha! This is kind of fun!

 Here comes another wave!
 haha!

As with all new experiences Connor is very hesitant at first but by the end he loves it. I'm sure if we were to have came the next day he would have loved it. I can't wait until next time! Kids sure do make life much more exciting!

During the week, while everyone was at work, Connor and I hung around the house, played with the dogs, jumped in the sprinklers, played in the kid pool, or played with toys. When Meme was feeling well enough for company we would visit with her. Luckily Dad's (Grandpa) work schedule allowed for us to have lunch with him. A few times we were able to surprise Mary (Nana) when she got home from work and visit with her.

This is what happens when you swim with regular diapers!

In the evenings, I cooked Meme dinner and made freezer meals for her to eat later. Wish I was closer so I could cook and clean for her so that she didn't have to worry about doing that for herself. I'm thankful that she allowed me to serve her, she has always gone out of her way to help me and my brother.

On Saturday, my mom (Memaw) and Doug spoiled Connor with a real train ride in Cordell, Georgia and later took him to playground at Johnny G's. While Connor was gone, I was able to clean Meme's house. While I worked Meme "supervised" me, which allowed us to chat and listen to old stories.
Towards the end of the two weeks she began feeling like her normal self, which called for her playing her favorite card game Gin Rummy. For 99 years old, she is doing great!

 99 years young!

A benefit of being their was we were able to celebrate Mary/Nana's birthday with her at Red Lobster. Glad we were able to spend time with her on her special day. (I can't believe I didn't take any pictures of us celebrating, too busy having fun).

By the end of the two weeks Connor and I were sad to leave, but super exhausted from all the excitement of spending time with family. We also missed Logan (Dad) so much! He was super excited to see us and wouldn't let go from hugging us at the airport. I don't think he will ever let us leave again without him!

Connor's 2nd Birthday party:
I can't believe Connor is TWO years old! Time sure if flying by way too fast! We feel truly blessed to be Connor's Mom and Dad. Connor has such a sweet personality and is very easy going. At first, in new situations, he is very quite. You can see he is curious as he watches from afar. He continues to love to explore. When we go to play group he is the only kid that runs in the opposite direction of the playground to discover what else is out there. I have to constantly keep my eye on him. One time, seriously look away for one minute, and he was across the street at a strangers home knocking on the door. When Connor feels comfortable and is familiar with his surroundings he is loud, silly, outgoing and less likely to go exploring. He loves to give hugs, kisses, and high fives. He still is in love with cars. He is a natural at golf and we are excited to see what other sports he begins to like. He enjoys reading books and can spend hours being read to. If anything is on TV he is immediately drawn to it. An explosions of words have developed and signs are slowly stopping. The moment he really began talking started while eating chips and salsa. He just looked at us and said salsa with the perfect pronounation, as if he has been saying it his whole life. He loves chips and salsa especially dipping the chip in the salsa (he is his father's son). Sharing is difficult for Connor except when it comes to food. We are hoping nursery, playgroup, and time will help him with sharing.
We had a car's theme cook out party for Connor. Grilled hamburgers and hotdogs with friends at the park. Happy Birthday 2nd birthday little man!

Yummm!
