November 2015

Eli 5 months
Eli started rolling over like a pro and is now rolling from back to belly and vice versa. Eli started regressing in his nighttime sleep to wanting to eat every 3 hours. I decided to see how he would do with solids. He loved it! Smacking his lips and begging for more. I was not ready for him to grow up so fast. I thought I had another month before he started solids. Time is flying by. (Warning: picture overload below, I struggle with just picking one because he is just too cute!)

Enjoying real food!

Connor Update
Connor loves to do whatever I am doing. If that involves cooking, cleaning or doing dishes then he usually right there "helping" me. He is a very focused kid and absorbs so much. We have been doing a little bit of schooling making arts and crafts, practicing writing letters, and reading books. He also loves playing pretend.
Daily he assigns me, Logan, and himself different characters from tv shows. If you don't play along with him and call him the name he assigned to himself he gets upset and won't answer until you calling him by it.
Most days he is a joy to be around but he can be difficult. He wants to be more independent and do everything himself. So I have learned to give him choices that way we both get what we want. Connor also has memorized some books that he likes to read to us or to himself; "The Spooky Old Tree" and "Pete the Cat and his Four Groovy Buttons".

Funny things Connor has done or said recently:
While negotiating with him to eat his dinner. Me: Eat one more bite and then you can be done, Connor: No five more bites. Then he happily ate all five bites and was done. (This was not a one time incident and has happen multiple times since).

When we tell Connor he can't do certain things he will say, "Ok, when i'm bigger like you then I can?" and we will say, "Yes exactly!" then he will counter with, "Ok i'm bigger like you now!"

When Eli starts to cry, Connor will want him to stop, so he will get right in Eli's face and yell, "IT'S OKAY ELI, WE ARE RIGHT HERE!"

Whenever Connor see you do something he finds satisfactory, such as going to the bathroom in the potty. He will say, "Great Job! Give me a high five!"

Rock Climbing
Sherri has so graciously agreed to watch the boys once a week so Logan and I can go rock climbing as a date. It has been so great to get a few hours to ourselves to work on a skill together.

Thanksgiving
We had a peaceful enjoyable time together with just our little family. We started the night off with a slumber party in the living room watching movies and snuggling together as a family. We woke up to snow covering the ground. This is the first year Connor has actually loved the snow. We had so much fun building a snowman and sledding. Then that evening we had a non-traditional meal of BBQ ribs. I'm all about having the holidays being a fun relaxing time instead of stressful time trying to meet the expectations of everything being perfect. Ultimately we built memories together by spending our time together as a family. I love us!
