February 2015

Reasons we love living in a house verses an apartment…..
1.) Not having to worry about disturbing neighbors below us.
2.) Not having to hunt for a parking space.
3.) Not having to carry groceries up a million stairs.
4.) Having a backyard.
5.) Having space to have people over.

Park with Sherri (Grandma)
Utah's winter are usually consistently cold with a lot of snow days. However, this winter is abnormally warm with barely any snow. Sherri thought it would be a great day to go to the park since the weather was so nice. We had a great time being out in the sunshine. I love watching Connor enjoy spending time with his grandparents and growing a relationship with them.

Potty training
The Game Plan: one m&m and sticker for peeing in potty. Two m&ms and two stickers for pooping in potty.
The first few days we spent the entire day upstairs in connor's room closest to the potty. We watched movies and read books and drank a lot of drinks. He did great at peeing in the potty and was really receptive to getting rewards.  Everyday when nap time came around, I put diapers on Connor to avoid having to clean up an accident. It became a crutch and he would hold his poop till then. Getting him to poop in the potty became the biggest challenge. Plus a few days after starting potty training he developed a cold and ear infection so we stopped for a few days and then had to restart the process. My mom was so excited and proud of Connor for peeing and almost pooping in the potty like a big boy that she sent out three giant monster trucks. Instead of giving them to him immediately I stacked them up and told him these would be a big prize for pooping in the potty. He was super excited and would repeat everyday "poop in potty, get monster truck". After successfully earning all three monster trucks, he lost his motivation and regressed to pooping in his underwear. I decided to put him back in diapers and start back up in a few weeks. We both needed a break. Potty training is a lot harder than I ever expected. By far the worst moment of potty training was when he came down stairs and handed me a handful of poop!!!!

Connor loves spending time with his Dad
Connor and Logan had so much fun shooting this toy rifle. Connor is so patience and focused on all the instructions Logan was teaching him. I love watching my guys spend quality time together.
