Connor at 9 months

Connor had his 9 month wellness checkup. Lucky him, he was only measured and weighed; no  shots this time. At 9 months Connor weights 18 pounds, 11 oz; length is 28 inches; and head circumference is 18 inches. Overall, his measurements drastically decreased with his percentile in weight going from 66% to 24%, percentile in length going from 83% to 26% and his percentile in head circumference going from 96% to 90%. Even though the doctor is not concerned, I am a little worried. Thinking of his past 3 months, I realized his diet had a major change. He went from nursing and solids to stopping solids completely in order to adjust to formula and slowly beginning solids again. I wonder if this change in diet stunted his growth temporally or if his body is just stabilizing. Oh the worries of first time parents.

Connor continues to pull-up onto everything. Walking will be happening soon! We are so blessed to have such a happy baby and we absolutely LOVE his little personality.
"Oh, you know! I'm just hanging out under the sofa!"

First Time at Park

We decided to take Connor to the park for the first time. After being stuck in the house for a months because of the constant snow, freezing weather, and terrible air quality; we were experiencing a little cabin fever. The first day of sunshine, after a day of snow that cleared up the air, I thought it would be good for us to get out. As you can tell in the pictures, Connor didn't really enjoy the park very much. We probably enjoyed this outing more than Connor did. He'll get the hang of it soon and be a happy-go-lucky kid on the playground.

Valentine's Day
We enjoyed a nice Valentine's day together as a family with yummy Oreo balls and strawberries.

Logan knows I'm not into physical things and always things from the heart. So this year he got me the perfect Valentine's surprise a song to me from yours truly.

 Around You

I sometimes take for granted
Having you in my life.
And I don’t tell you enough how much
I love that you’re my wife.

Let me set the record straight
So you see what feelings break thru.
Like how I could not carry on
Without being around you.

To be around you…
Means I have my best friend by my side.
To be around you…
Means I have a comfy shoulder when I cry.

It means I’ll never have to fear
With your support and listening ear
It means my search for true love’s finally through;
To be around you.

You never really recognize
How truly gorgeous you are.
Your eyes, your skin, your smile
Can't be compared to, By Far.

Though I must apologize
For stupid things I put you through.
There’s nothing in this life I crave more
Than being around you.

To be around you…
Means I have the softest hand to hold.
To be around you…
Means our love will grow as we grow old.

It means I’ll never have to fear
With your support and listening ear
It means my search for true love’s finally through;
To be around you!

 New Recipes

I am actually enjoying learning to cook! Who would have guessed that? If you would have told me in the past that I would actually enjoy cooking, sewing, and being a stay-at-home mom; I would have had a good, long laugh. Funny how life changes. Added to the menu this month: is Homemade Chik-fil-a Chicken Nuggets and Chik-fil-a Sauce (also found a Zaxby's sauce recipe that rocks. Tempted to put it on everything, that's how much we miss our Zaxby's sauce!); Spaghetti and Meatballs; and 100% Whole-Wheat Bread. (Special thanks goes to master chef Jenee for passing on her secrets of awesome recipes!)

Sickness

We have now experienced that sickness will be spread to the entire family. When one gets sick, we all get sick. Logan started the gross sickness, passed it to Connor, then to me. We, as new parents,  have a difficult time knowing when baby Connor is seriously sick or not. So, better safe than sorry, Connor went to the doctor. Wheezing, snot, and coughing is not fun for baby. Doctor said not much she could do since he had a virus which isn't treatable with medicine. At least we learned the proper way of sucking out snot for our future kids and we will know not to make a wasted trip to the doctor.

January

New Year's Eve Party!

We brought in the New Year with friends the Cobbs and the Hendersons! Our little families always have a blast together! So, what better way to bring in the new year than together. We discussed our goals and aspirations for the bright year of 2013. This will be a lucky year no matter what anyone says. The year of 2012 was great and I look forward to continuing its greatness into this next year. All the other kiddos were in bed by midnight except our little night owl. Connor man played with his friend's toys and was a  happy-go-lucky little guy. He did finally got to bed at ONE a.m. Crazy kid wanted to party with the adults.
black-eye peas yummmy!

On New Year's day we had the good luck fest of black-eyed peas. Logan hates Black Eye Peas but he wanted as much luck as possible for the year and ate a big portion without making too many faces!

Good Bye Provo,  Hello North Salt Lake

"helping" pack

January 12th, moving day. You would think with how many times we have moved in the past 4.5 years we would be pros. Haha, not us. We spent the week prior to moving packing thinking we had plenty of time. But some reason it takes much longer than expected, as always. The night before the big move, we only had one room and a closet left to pack (no biggie). Our friends invited us over for dinner, then after dinner turned into hours of hanging out, instead of packing. Time has a way of always sneaking up on us when we all hangout. The next thing we knew it was one o'clock in the morning. When we got home we realized our dumb mistake. The remaining packing was going to take hours meaning we had to pull and all nighter! Connor was still awake and needed sleep bad; however, we didn't know where he was going to sleep with stuff everywhere. Poor guy ended up sleeping in his car seat in the bathtub (wish I would have got a picture). Even with us making poor choices of playing with friends instead of packing, I was proud that we worked great together as a team and pushed through. The next day guys showed up from our ward and helped load the moving truck. Luckily the moving truck company made a mistake and booked us a bigger truck than we had reserved cause the one we originally reserved would not have been big enough to move all our stuff.

We were sad to leave our Provo condo. Since Connor has come into our lives, we felt the Provo condo was our first real home. Before Connor was in our lives, I felt like home was any place Logan and I were together; we didn't need anything but each other. Now, however, we have someone who needs us to provide him everything. Home is now time spent together as the three of us at one location for many more hours of the day, instead of the previous spending time elsewhere. I would have never guessed this little guy would bring so much joy. Definitely has turned our world upside-down, but I wouldn't want it any other way!

Our new address is: 882 Foxboro Drive Apt. B-301

Family Fun in Idaho

For a Christmas present Papa (Randie) gave Grandma (Sherri) a plane ticket to visit her kids and grandkids in Utah and Idaho. The day after moving, Connor and I made a trip with Grandma, Holly, and Tanner up to Idaho to visit with Jenee and Scott's family. I got to experience negative 15 degree weather for the first-and-last time. Managing the cold is a lot easier when you have the love of family around, otherwise I would have nothing to do with it. We had a great time just being together, enjoying each others company and playing games. All the cousins together under one roof was a lot of fun; especially the three little ones. Thankfully during this visit, the goal of teaching Connor to take a bottle was accomplished. We are so blessed to have other experienced mom's in our lives to call upon for advice or look to them as an example.

Connor at 8 months!

This month was a big change for Mr. Connor,  he went from nursing to a bottle of formula. I was hoping to nurse him for longer but between my milk supply slowing and him growing sharp teeth, formula had to happen. At first, formula was very difficult on his little tummy so all solids were stopped until his tummy adjusted. We finally found a formula for him and he has learned how to drink from a bottle, which he boycotted at first.

No longer is Connor an army crawling little man. He has learned crawling on all fours gets you where you want to be at a lot faster! I hope he doesn't learn that walking is even faster than crawling, but that is inevitable. He is pulling up on anything and everything and cruising around and his little two feet.

Connor is sporting the pearly whites with four top teeth and four bottom teeth, they are sharp little daggers, so beware! His new favorite game is playing dentist! Do we have a future dentist in the family? We love this guy so much!

How can you not Love him!?
