 Our Big Adventure to Georgia!

It has been a year and half since we last visited Georgia. We decided to do a big trip as a celebration of Logan graduating and our 5 year wedding anniversary.

Being new parents, we did not think traveling with Connor would be a problem since he is such a happy little guy. The trip started out great with Connor contently watching people and happy to be on an adventure. It seems as soon as the plane was in the air he began to cry and scream the whole way to Georgia. Yep, we were those parents with the screaming, uncontrollable baby. To Connor's defense some molars decided to start growing a couple days before starting the trip. We've decided this was probably our last trip to Georgia. If family want to see us they'll have to come here.

Getting ready for take off

Hello Atlanta!

Graduation Party:
We had a graduation party here in Utah but we decided to have another one in Georgia too. Plus it's a great excuse to have friends and family all gather together and visit with us. Great food, great company and great conversations! (Can't ask for more!)We enjoyed, and are thankful for, Grandpa (Jack) and Nana (Mary) allowing us to party at their place.

Funny faces!

5th Year Anniversary Trip:
We decided to celebrate our anniversary early, just the two of us! Thankfully, we were able to escape for a relaxing trip to Daytona, Florida. Connor had a great time staying back in Georgia with his grandparents. He received so much loving on while we were gone that he did not even seem to have missed us. This is the longest we have ever gone without being with Connor.   We have lived years without him in our lives but now that he is here, I don't see how we ever lived without him. While enjoying each others company in Florida, we kept finding ourselves talking about Connor or wishing we would have bought him with us.

Florida was great choice to spend the days just laying under the sun, soaking in the rays, while reading fun books. The weather was perfect for laying out without getting hot but the water was too chilly for swimming. Love the sound of the crashing of the waves and the beautiful water.

Living in Utah the mountains prevent us from seeing the sun first peak over the horizon. We got up one morning at 5:30am to experience the blissful quietness of the morning sun (I had fun playing with all the settings on my camera).

Zoom Air Adventure Park:
While we were in Florida we wanted to do things we had not done in a while or that we couldn't do with Connor. We happened to drive by a zip line and ropes course place and had a great time playing in the trees. We also do not get the luxury of going to the movie theaters very often anymore so we went to the movie theater and saw "The Great Gatsby".

FOOD!
Every night we looked forward to dinner. We have not had seafood in quite a long time. Nothing is better than fresh seafood. Every night Logan had crab legs and scrimp; while I had either grouper or mahi-mahi with hushpuppies.

Our Temple:
We couldn't go to Florida without visiting "our" temple in Orlando. So we stopped by on our way back to Georgia and did a few sealings. I can not believe it has already been 5 years since we were married. Not a day goes by that I'm not ecstatic to have made the commitment to be with Logan for eternity. I love the knowledge that I will get to spend forever with my best friend. Thinking back to that day 5 years ago, I thought I loved him so much then, but now I know I love him so much more! It is hard to comprehend that in 5 more years, I will love him even more than I do now. I am so blessed that he saw in me more than I saw in myself and has helped me become the women I am today. I am so thankful that family are forever.

Connor's First Birthday:
Connor turned 1 years old during our visit. We are so blessed to have this happy guy in our lives. Everyday he fills our home with laughter. At one year of age he has taken a few steps independently, but he is not fulling walking yet. He will walk as long as he is holding onto your hand but as soon as you let go he falls flat on his butt. He loves people and gets a lot of attention where ever he goes. He has a calm, easy-going personality, is a great sleeper, and loves to eat all foods. Everyone told me once you have a kid to say goodbye to sleep but he sleeps 12 hours straight. I guess he is spoiling us.

At his 12 month checkup:
Weight: 21 pounds, 13 ounces; 40th percentile
Height: 29.5 inches; 49th percentile
Head: 19 inches; 90th percentile

Connor celebrated his first birthday at Grandma (Sherri) and Papa's (Randie) house. We had a great time visiting with family and friends. We are so blessed to have so much family and friends who love us.

"Look at my balloons!"

"I'm ONE!"

More Family:
Connor has now promoted Meme to Great-Meme. This was her first time meeting Connor. Along with other family members. It just so happen we were in Georgia during Mother's day and the family had a family gathering at Great-Meme's house.
Meme is currently 98 years old and has been fulfilling her dreams of becoming an artist. I loved seeing all her creations and am so proud of her hard work.

Back home to Utah:
We enjoyed our trip. The plane trip back home went much better. Minus the hour portion from phoenix to Salt Lake where the stewardess felt the constant need to talk on the speaker which kept waking up Connor who was not happy about that. We miss our friends and family back in Georgia but we do not miss the humidity.

Lunch Date @ Temple Square

Teaching Connor how to slide.
Goodbye, for now:

Our friend, Talmadge Henderson is leaving for an internship at Ernest Young in Dallas, Texas. He is going for two months while his wife and kids stay back in Utah. This will be a difficult event for them, but it is worth the sacrifice. More than likely he will be offered a full-time position with the company once he graduates. We are so thankful for their friendship and the positive example they set of working hard.
Lacey, Talmadge's wife, sent him off with a bang! She planned a shooting party, out in the middle of nowhere; followed by a cookout at the park. We had a blast!

Shooting the 9mm
Talmadge with his AK47 that he built.

Logan threw a bottle into the air, while un-holstering his gun and blew the bottle into piece with the first and only shot! Very impressive!

Lacey learning how to shot.

Connor, just chilling with ear plugs in, of coarse!

Watching with the binoculars.
Visit/ Meet Uncle Richard and Carolyn:

Uncle Richard and Aunt Carolyn were on a road trip going from Oklahoma to Washington. When they were passing through Utah their trailer decided it needed a break for repairs. Their unfortunate situation gave them the opportunity to visit and meet with family. This was Hanna's and Connor's first time meeting them, but felt like we had known each other for forever. Blessed to know families are forever and that we all have the opportunity to marry and expand our families by gaining loving in-law family members. We all had a great time sitting outside by the hotel pool talking. We look forward to visiting with them again, hopefully sooner than later.  (Waiting on pictures that Richard took)
