March

Connor at 10 months

Connor has recently started pointing, not for us to get him something just to show us stuff, it's so cute. One big accomplishment this month was learning to drink from a sippy cup. At first, just like when he went from nursing to bottle, he boycotted it. Now the bottle only comes out at bedtime, while drinking it he gets what we call his "drunk" face and is passes out; he is such a great sleeper, sleeps from 8pm till 8am.  Connor is so close to walking but I don't think he realizes it. As long as he is holding on to something he can walk, but as soon as there is nothing in his hand he falls to the ground. We are in no rush for him to walk, since he'll be walking the rest of his life. We love our Connor-Man!

Grammy visits

Grammy (Tina) was able to come visit us for a week. She unfortunately lost her job, but the "break" allowed her to come see us whereas otherwise she wouldn't have been able to. The week flew by way too fast but we had a great time just being together. Grammy gave us a reason to get out of the house, been avoiding leaving because of the snow.

We found a park in downtown salt near the capital area that overlooked the Salt Lake Valley. Connor had a blast swing.

Went to the Davis County Recreation Center where Connor had his first swim. Even indoors the water was still chilly. Dad (Logan) even took Connor down a big tube slide. We are so ready for the cold weather to leave. Even though spring has sprung we still are having summer time fun, just have to do it indoors.

No one thinks of going to the Zoo when it's cold, so we had the whole place to ourselves. Connor loved it. Pointing to all the different animals, especially the indoor portion where the birds fly around.

Grammy visited with some friends, Victor and Lisa Lora, who live in Layton, Ut but lived in Georgia 15 years ago. They have been able to stay in contact all through the years. Connor hung out with them while Logan and I went on a much needed date. It had been quite a long time since we had been on one. The night before we attempted to go on a date but it failed.

The night before: Logan wanted to go an archery range, but when we got there they were completely full. Since Logan's idea failed it was my turn at choosing where to go. My thought process was: what can't we do when we have Connor with us? Concert was my first thought. So we googled different music venues and headed that way. However, all the music halls were full of smoke, alcohol and teenie-boppers. I guess we are getting too old for young people stuff. So instead we drove around the rest of the night.

Next attempt: So the next night we tried again at going on a date. We had dinner with the Lora's and then left for a night out in the town. Once again we had no idea what to do. We went to a Fun Center but looked like fun for kids, which made us excited for when Connor is older to take him roller skating, bowling, play arcade games, etc. Logan suggested seeing a movie since we can't take Connor with us to the movies and it had been quite awhile since we had seen a movie. Les Miserables was the movie we decided on but we had an hour and half before the movie started. We ended up at the mall looking at clothes for Connor. Even when he's not with us we can't help but think about him. While walking around we saw an artist doing charactertures. We're a supporter of the artist community so we sit down and learn all about this artist and I even got offered a job. So funny to see our dominate features distorted.

Les Miserables was amazing and since, we have got the sound track and the music constantly fills our home. Coming home we felt the date was a success but even without the usual weekly date night we realize we have "dates" after Connor goes to bed we have that time to spend together. Having to wait a long while for a traditional date nights makes it more special.

We really enjoyed having a week spent with Grammy. Connor is so blessed to have so much family that loves him.

Hiking

Luckily we had a weekend that was nice so we went for a hike in the mountains at Muller Park in Bountiful, UT. It is so nice to get out in nature and away from the city. We didn't take into consideration that there would still be snow on the trails in the mountains. It was a tough hike sliding through the trails.

Los Cucos

After living in Utah for 2 years we have FINALLY found a good mexican restaurant. We are addicted to Mexican food. If we could we would eat it for every meal, every day. But since moving to Utah we have not found a decent sit-down Mexican restaurant. The first thing we do when we get to Georgia is eat at our favorite Mexican restaurants. We randomly found Los Cucos in Sandy, UT and are now in love. Good thing Los Cucos is 30 minutes away because otherwise we would be tempted to eat there a lot more than we should. Logan and I have been able to figure out whether a Mexican Restaurant will be good one or not, from a test we invented called the chips and salsa test. If the chips and salsa are not amazing then there is no reason to order a meal. We have walked out of other mexican restaurants if they did not pass our test. Los Cucos passed with flying colors. The chips are made fresh as well as the salsas; two types of salsa's are served, a Red and Green type. The Red comes out at a warmer temperature and is spicy and fresh. The Green comes out cool and tastes of avocados, cilantro, and creamy goodness. The menu is packed full of tons of yumminess, it's hard to choose. Logan talked with the manager and it turns out the owner of the restaurant is from Mexico and all the recipes are authentic mexican. This restaurant is a little piece of heaven on earth. Great, now my mouth is watering for some Los Cucos!!!

Arts and Crafts

I painted an owl to decorate Connor's room. The owl is a replica of one of the owls that will be on his quilt. By his first birthday his room will be complete. Only one thing left to make is his quilt.

Logan's Mission Reunion

Ever since Logan has been home from his mission he has wanted to go to a mission reunion; however, he's always been in Georgia when the time came, but not this time. We wished we would have taken pictures. Even without pictures it was great to see a lot of the mission buddies that Logan served sharing the Gospel with.
