April 2014

Welcome New Furry Family Member:
This is our new family dog, Daisy! She is a miniature golden doodle which means she is half golden retriever and poodle. She is expected to be between 30 to 50 pounds and no taller than three feet. Having a puppy is a lot like having a newborn baby. All she wants to do is eat, poop, and sleep. She has to go out to potty every 3 hours, even during the night. I'm glad that Logan's allergies can handle her and that Connor gets to grow up with a dog as a sibling.

Spring Photo shoot:
We have been hanging out with our friends Spencer and Brittany Moon a lot. Spencer enjoys doing photography and is currently doing a small business to help pay for Dental School. He graciously took our family picture with the beautiful Blue Bonnets flowers that have recently bloomed. Spencer told us of this great spot which was surpassingly on the median of a major road. It turned out perfectly, just as I imagined.

Wedding Photo shoot:
Spencer invited me to join him to be a second photographer for a wedding in Fort Worth Botanical Garden. It was such a great learning experience and gave me an idea of what it would really be like to have my own photography business. The general public thinks that all it takes to be a really good photographer is to have the best equipment. But I have learned there is so much to think about behind the camera to take a truly stunning picture. I still have so much to learn but I know if I keep pursing it I can perfect this hobby. I love art and know that photography is a creative hobby that anyone at any age can do. I hope when I'm in my 90's I am still doing photography.

Learning Photography:
Logan and I have come to an agreement to be more interested in each others hobbies. Therefore we are going to teach each other our hobbies. Hanna is going to learn golf and Logan is going to learn to do photography. Logan's first photography lesson was amazing and has a nature talent for it and seems as if he has been doing it all his life. I am very impressed with his first photography practice at the park.

Friends Reunited:
At the end of the month our friends the Henderson's moved from Provo, Utah to the apartment right behind us. We are officially neighbors! We are extremely happy to have them here and have our families hangout together. With them here it seems like we haven't actually left Utah. When they arrived we celebrated by going to Cheddar's.  Utah doesn't have Cheddar's and it is Lacey's number one favorite restaurant. Great food and laughter with friends, what more could we ask for.
